How to Add People on Skype?
You can add people on Skype using the Skype app on Android, Skype app on iPhone, Skype app on PC or Skype web app.
Add People on Skype using Android Smartphone
If you are using Skype app on Android smartphone, then follow the below steps:
1. Open the Skype app on your Android and login if asked.
2. On the Skype homepage, you will find the “New Chat” icon. Click on that.
3. The New Chat window will open where you will find the search tab.
4. On the search tab, enter the Skype ID or username of the person whom you want to add.
5. You will get the suggestions. Choose the right person and click on their profile.
6. The message tab will open. You have to send a “Hi” to that person and they should accept the message to start the conversation.
Alternatively, you can also add people on Skype using the Contacts tab on Skype. Click on the Contacts Tab >>> Search icon >>> Search for the Person.
Add People on Skype using iOS Smartphone
1. Open the Skype app on your iOS device and login if asked.
2. On the homepage of Skype, click on the “New Chat” icon on the top right corner.
3. You will land on the New Chat window. Click on the search tab.
4. Enter the Skype ID of the person whom who want to add to your contact.
5. You will get a few suggestions. Click on the correct ID to go to the conversation page.
6. Send a Hi to that person and wait for their confirmation. Once they confirm your contact, you can start conversating.
Add People on Skype using Windows and Mac Skype app
This method is similar on both Windows and Mac Skype app.
1. Open Skype app on your Windows or Mac PC and login if asked.
2. You will find the search bar below your username. Click on the search bar.
3. Enter the Skype ID of the person whom you are searching for. You will get a few suggestions. Select the correct user.
4. The conversation page will open on the right side space. Send a Hi as an invitation. You can make a conversation only when the person accepts your invitation.
With this method, you can add people on Skype using Windows and Mac devices.
If you are using the Skype web app, then you can follow the PC steps to add people on Skype. Skype Web interface is similar to the PC app interface and hence you can use the same procedure.
